02 | The Challenge
In 2013, the development of PokerStars Spin & Go tournaments began, culminating in its launch in 2014. At the request of PokerStars' poker room leadership, a series of prototypes and specifications were needed for this innovative poker tournament format.
Creating these prototypes entailed capturing the intricacies of UI changes that occur during the dynamic and fast-paced progression of the game. It was imperative to possess a profound understanding of Texas Hold'em game rules, coupled with extensive experience in designing for online poker. Additionally, expertise in prototyping, illustration, storyboarding, and animation was crucial to successfully complete the task at hand.

A set of the prototypes and specifications were delivered. They provided very detailed requirements and guidance to the graphic designers and developers.
Ongoing reviews of the game and the feedback were provided throughout the testing phase.

PokerStars was happy with the delivered document.
In 2014 PokerStars Spin & Go Tournaments were officially launched. The game features a new poker tournament format comprising a lottery based prize pool. The game instantly gained success and popularity among the players. In the first few years upon its launch, Spin & Go brought an additional 40% increase in PokerStars annual revenue. This format of the tournament is still one of the most popular online poker games known today.​​
