02 | The Challenge
PokerGO, a streaming service and online paid subscription channel, offers a wide range of poker shows, cash games, and tournaments. It is operated by Poker Central, a prominent entity in the poker industry.
In 2019, Poker Central sought to broaden its portfolio of poker-focused products and services by introducing a new mobile poker application. This application aimed to provide a comprehensive platform for poker enthusiasts, offering access to poker news, events, tournaments, and live poker games. I was entrusted with the responsibility of designing the user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) for a distinctive vertical or portrait-oriented poker table specifically tailored for mobile devices.
03 | The Solution
The project was delivered in a couple of weeks and immediately signed off for production. The timely and quality execution was due to our extensive experience in designing digital poker products.
The specification provided pixel perfect calculations for positioning, paddings and sizing of all the UI components placed on the portrait poker table. The specification covered full ring, 6-handed, 4-handed and heads up sittings and all the use cases associated with a game progression and handedness; whole cards placement for Texas Hold’em and Seven Card Stud poker and all the use cases arising at each street.
